Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork in Roslindale Village

About Liana

Originally from Burlington, VT., my partner and I relocated to Boston, MA in 2013 after eleven years in Chicago, IL.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Choreography from Columbia College Chicago.  The intense use of my body as a performing artist lead me to a career in massage therapy as both a flexible way to continue to be creative and help myself and others learn how to recover and better take care of our bodies.  I am still active as a choreographer, educator, and performer having shown my dance-based work in many venues across the country.  I currently choreograph for Greater Boston Stage Company's the young company and ArtBarn Community Youth Theatre and create original dance-theatre work independently in the Boston area.

In addition to my extensive background in dance and movement, I have 15 years experience as a massage therapist after training at the renowned Boulder College of Massage Therapy’s 1000-hour program in Colorado.  I have taken courses in Asian Bodywork (Thai, Shiatsu, Tui Na) and Theory at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, as well as advance Orthopedic Massage certification courses in Boulder, CO.  In 2022, I learned Cranio-Sacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute and added cupping to my practice in 2023.   I taught Anatomy and Kinesiology at the Cortiva Institute in Watertown, MA from 2013-2014 and Anatomy & Physiology at the Elizabeth Grady School of Massage Therapy in Medford, MA from 2019-2021.

I worked at Be Well Boston Clinical Massage Therapy in Back Bay for 5 years before starting my private practice in Roslindale Village and I have also worked in spas, chiropractic and acupuncture offices, and medical fitness centers throughout my career.  In 2019, I completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified Yoga Teacher Training through JP Centre Yoga and currently lead yoga classes at Akasha Studio in Roslindale Village.

When I'm not busy with teaching and practicing movement and healing arts, I love to vegetarian cooking and gluten-free baking, drinking tea all day, simple gardening, hiking in the Blue Hills, or bicycling around the city.  I enjoy live music, theatre, and dance, and spending snuggle time with my husband A, our nine year old daughter M and toddler S, and our orange cat Mango.
